Solar Analysis and impact of future developments
Digital Design & Imaging Service specializes in visual impact studies, including analyzing and illustrating the general visual impacts caused by any proposed structure in terms of shadows cast during the day and artificial light pollution at night. These studies, usually referred to as solar impact studies and artificial light pollution analysis, are often overlooked until the proposed structure has been built. However, they are an important part of the visual impact of a proposed structure. Even structures that have a positive visual impact on their surroundings can have a detrimental solar or artificial light impact. Take for example any iconic skyscraper, which enhances the city skyline, and is around 1000′ tall. During the winter a shadow can be more than twice the height of an object. This means that even if you lived or worked 9 city blocks away from it, you may still be residing in it’s shadow for a good portion of each day.
