In a climate where crowd population estimates are often driven by political agendas, DDIS strives to remain as unbiased and apolitical as possible. Generating accurate, unbiased, replicable, crowd counts is a unique discipline. It combines statistics, optics, land surveying, and image analysis, with aerial photography, aeronautics, 3D animation, and perspective drawing. DDIS specializes in predicting and accurately counting the density of dynamic crowds gathered in large, outdoor venues.

Not only do we provide an accurate, defensible crowd count, we can provide it within a few hours of the event. This ability to provide speed and accuracy allows us to cover major events for mainstream media outlets. For example, we are most well known for our crowd counting at the Beck / Palin “Restoring Honor Rally” at the Lincoln Memorial, and the Colbert / Stewart “Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear” near the US Capitol, which we counted as part of a contract with CBS News.
