Stand-Off Elevated Body Temperature Detection System
Detecting elevated body temperatures of people infected with the Coronavirus is rapidly becoming a monumental task that triage doctors and security people need to quickly perform OUTSIDE of makeshift hospital centers.
To help address this exploding need, we propose the use of mast mounted surveillance and IR camera systems to help first responders identify potentially infected people through resolution, testing large groups of people at a time for elevated temperatures becomes feasible.
We are applying for SBIR grants that would focus on modifying high-resolution IR cameras to deploy and operate under outdoor conditions, mounting them on our existing mast system, and calibrating them to accurately detect elevated body temperatures.
This imaging system could then be deployed outside of makeshift hospitals, airports, and show higher than normal body temperatures.
